DSC_3396-2a copy 2 We’re proud to announce that Micah Nave will be joining the ministry staff at Springdale Church on February 17th as the Children’s Ministry Director (Infants-5th Grade). We believe that Micah will be an incredible addition to our team and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her through this process and look forward to how God is going to use her.

Micah is originally from Harrisburg, IL but lived in several places around the Midwest and South as part of a ministry family. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Actuarial Science) from the University of Evansville in Evansville, IN. She went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree in Women’s Leadership from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary here in Louisville. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in Family Ministry at the same institution.

Micah has a rich background in ministry that includes service with children at McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL and Highview Baptist in Louisville as well as youth ministry experience with the NC and KY Baptist Conventions, North Park Baptist Church in Evansville, IN and Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in Andrews, NC.

In her free time, Micah enjoys cooking, swimming, hiking, movies, arts and crafts. We can’t wait for the people of SCC to know Micah and do life with her as she passionately leads and ministers to our children and their parents in the days ahead.

Jeremy White Ordination Banner

Please join us on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 6:00 pm for the ordination service of my dear friend and SCC Executive Pastor, Jeremy White. This is such a special occasion in Jeremy’s life and ministry and I know he, Jeannette and James would be honored by your presence and support on that night.

It will be a great privilege for me to preach this commissioning service and I can’t believe it’s been almost three years since Jeremy and I sat in a booth at Wick’s Pizza discussing his call to ministry and what he thought the future may hold for his life. A lot of prayer, conversation and circumstances have taken place since that moment and I believe the Lord has carried him to this exact point.

Jeremy has been examined and deemed fit for the Gospel ministry by an ordination council and all that remains is his public proclamation, sending out and celebration. I invite anyone in the greater Louisville area that knows or has been involved in Jeremy’s journey to be with us on the 6th.
